About Belhara Estate Winery & Vineyards

Argentina, Mendoz - Uco Valley

Mendoza's winemaking history is nearly as old as the colonial history of Argentina itself. The
first vines were planted by priests of the Catholic Church's Jesuit order in the mid-16th Century, borrowing agricultural techniques from the Incas and Huarpes, who had occupied the land before them. Belhara Estate has 280 hectares of vineyards located in the most prestigious appellations of origin in Mendoza. Tupungato and Altamira in the Uco Valley with vineyards
located at an altitude of 1300 meters and in the first zone, Lujan de Cuyo at 830 meters.
Total production of 4 million kilos of grapes on the Bodega's 3 properties.Main grapes produced: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet FrancThe winemaking structure was built in a traditional style with small concrete and stainless steel fermenters with a capacity of 10,000 to 20,000 liters, ideal for fermenting high end quality reds.

Vineyard & Wine Regions

A crucial point in wine making is to understand your vineyard, knowing the soil structure allows you to isolate parcels and harvest grapes with similar flavors and characteristics. This is part of a precision viticulture system made and enhanced by Stephen Paul Huse, owner and Wine director of Estate Vineyards.

Altamira - San Carlos, Valle de Uco

Altamira region lies on the bank of the Tunuyan River in the Uco Valley, is particularly suited to Malbec. It´s a small sub region under the San Carlos district and has long been on of the most important wine growing region in Mendoza. Our vineyard has XX hec. and is located at 1000m above the sea level Has a sandy soil with stones on the surface with significant calcareous presence. The hot temperatures and sunny days promote ripening and adds weight and complexity to the wines.

Gualtallary is one of the most exciting terroir and wine region in the world. is in the heart of Tupungato Region and its wines are crafted with a rare purity that really speaks of its landscape. Our estate vineyard is located at 1300 meters above sea level, has a very cool climate and the soils are rich in sand, gravel and mainly chalk which imparts mineral notes as well as more tense tannins. The property har 100 hectares planted with Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
This sub soil has been totally studied to understand its soil structure allowing it to isolate parcels and Harvest grapes grapes with similar flavors and characteristics.

Lujan de Cuyo

Lujan de Cuyo is located in the South of Mendoza city, and is home to the most famous names in Argentian wines. Malbec is the most important grape variety, producing intensely flavored and bold red wines. Our Vineyard has acres located at 900 above sea level, has a continental climate with semi-
